Many frustrating problems involving premature failure of metal wear parts are being solved on a routine basis by unique hard-surface coating processes trade named Armoloy TDC and XADC. These controlled proprietary processes, in which an extremely hard chromium coating is applied, produces a superior degree of adherence and uniformity not obtainable by conventional chromium plating. Amazing results have been achieved with Armoloy coatings including increase parts service life from two to ten times that of unprocessed parts. All this is accomplished with a size change of less than .0002" coating thickness, allowing production parts to conform to original application specifications and tolerances.
The Armoloy TDC and XADC processes involve a special pre-cleaning and removing of matrix from the basis metal’s surface by special proprietary means, followed by a modified electro coating process that causes the chromium metallic elements of the coating solutions to permeate the surface porosity of the basis metals. It is during this process that the absolute adhesive characteristics and qualities of Armoloy coatings are generated and TDC and XADC coatings actually become integrated with the metal itself, resulting in a lasting bond and a continuous, smooth, hard surface. The surface will not chip, flake, crack, peel, or separate from the basis metal on Standard ASTM bend tests or under conditions of extreme heat or cold. In addition to providing a lasting bond, Armoloy TDC and XADC improve corrosion resistance and reduce friction and wear.

The addition of nano-diamond spheres to the 78Rc Armoloy TDC coating technology is unique, but still allows for cost effectiveness and rapid delivery to ensure in-budget and on-time delivery.
The XADC-Armoloy and Armoloy TDC coatings enhance the durability of components used in a wide range of applications from plastic injection mold tooling to aerospace applications that require long life expectancy, extreme wear protection, low frictional characteristics and corrosion protection. Coatings can be applied to all ferrous and nonferrous metals, but it is not recommended for aluminum, titanium, or magnesium.
