Armoloy Corporation meets the demanding standards of the aerospace industry.
Armoloy TDC and XADC- Armoloy coatings may be used on any ferrous or non-ferrous metal, including all grades of stainless steel. Surface hardness is increased to 78 Rc with Armoloy TDC and to 98 Rc with XADC- Armoloy coating. Armoloy has many experienced engineers and coaters on staff; their experience combined with our technologically advanced Quality Control department results in consistently applied, quality coatings that meet the requirements of AMS-2438 (TDC), QQC-320-B, AMS-2406, and numerous others. Laboratory measurement equipment includes x-ray, laser micrometer, Kocour, Fishersope, SEM, and other state-of-the-art quality equipment.

Applications include:
Landing GearSplines
Helicopter ComponentsTension Pins
NASA Components Ball Screws/Nuts
Wing Flap BearingsIn-flight Bearings
Refueling Devices Valves
Sensor DevicesLock Pins
GearsThreaded Bolts/Nuts

Armoloy® TDC and XADC-Armoloy® coatings are successfully used in nuclear reactors. In nuclear applications, the use of Armoloy coatings have resulted in improved wear resistance. Surface hardness is increased to 78 Rc with Armoloy and to 98 Rc with XADC- Armoloy coating. The coatings also reduce galling (cold-welding), seizing and fretting corrosion. Armoloy coatings are not adversely affected by radiation and perform well in temperatures that exceed 1000o F. Armoloy can coat all grades of stainless steel.

Applications include:
SS Control Rods/TubesSS Adjusting Bolts
SS Adjusting NutsSS Pumps
Threaded Components ID/ODGrippers
Underwater Cutting EquipmentLock Pins

Armoloy® TDC and XADC-Armoloy® coatings reduce scrap rates and lower labor costs in the automotive industry. The smooth, micro-nodular surface of the Armoloy coatings allows for a reduction in the use of lubrication agents during each run, which substantially reduces clean-up and set-up times. Armoloy coatings reduce premature wear and pick-up, allowing more hits per run and less maintenance-related downtime. When maintenance is required, Armoloy coatings can be welded without compromising the coating-the coatings are guaranteed not to peel, flake or chip. Armoloy coatings are especially successful in die applications that require forming galvanized material or aluminum. All types of nitrided surfaces can be successfully coated. Surface hardness is increased to 78 Rc with Armoloy and to 98 Rc with XADC- Armoloy coating. Armoloy works to meet the needs of JIT inventory programs.

Applications include:
  • Form, Stamping And Draw Dies (Weights Up To 10 Tons)
  • Fuel Injection Components
  • Welding Machinery (To Prevent Spatter Build-Up)
  • Plastic Molds (Glass/Mineral Filled Material)
  • Chains in Corrosive Environments
  • Rubber Molds
  • Robotic Equipment
  • Forming Tools/Punches

Armoloy® TDC and XADC- Armoloy® coatings provide excellent wear and corrosion protection with reduced friction characteristics for machine tools of all sizes. Controlled deposits are applied allowing the coatings to work against themselves in metal-to-metal movement applications. All coatings are applied at temperatures less than 200o F. This cold processing technology prevents distortion, dimensional changes and annealing from occurring in the base metal. Armoloy coatings are applied within close tolerances (.0001/.0003") and can be applied in specific areas of the part when required. Surface hardness is increased to 78Rc with Armoloy and to 98 Rc with XADC- Armoloy coating.

Applications include:

Wash-down EquipmentSpindles
Splines Adjusting Screws
Conveyor SystemsCams
Bearings (all types)Gibs
Tool Holders Rolls
Housings Seal Areas

Armoloy® TDC and XADC- Armoloy® coatings make food-processing equipment last longer and clean up faster. Armoloy has USDA approval for machinery applications. Corrosion can be reduced and/or eliminated in most applications. The low co-efficient of friction created by Armoloy coatings allows for reduced wear and less maintenance downtime. The lubricious nature of the coatings, combined with their outstanding wear capabilities (78/98Rc) allow food processing equipment to operate better and withstand daily wash-downs and cleaning. Armoloy can be applied to all grades of stainless steel and can eliminate the need for TeflonTM or other non-durable surface coatings. Adhesion is absolute-the coating will not delaminate once it has been applied. Armoloy coatings can withstand temperatures in excess of 1000o F.

Applications include:
Heat Sealing ToolingHoppers
RailsFeeder Systems
Packaging EquipmentChutes
Flow Regulation Bearings (For Corrosion Resistance) Guides
Chopping, Coring and Cutting Tools Valves
Slides Shafts

Armoloy® TDC and XADC- Armoloy® coatings reduce maintenance requirements and downtime in the molding industry, including injection, extrusion, blow, pultrusion, RIM and SMC applications. The life of molding components is extended with Armoloy coatings, particularly when glass-filled and mineral-filled resins are being formed. Armoloy coatings increase material flow due to the smooth, micro-nodular surface produced by the coating, leading to more shots and shorter cycle times. Molding areas stay cleaner longer and require less maintenance when Armoloy coatings are used, and most burned-on plastic/rubber compounds can be quickly removed. Armoloy coatings maintain required gloss levels and enhance textured surfaces. Post-polishing can improve reflectivity to an SPE #2 level. Armoloy coatings can be applied to all ferrous and non-ferrous materials including beryllium copper and Ampcoloy bronze. Surface hardness is increased to 78 Rc with Armoloy and to 98 Rc with XADC- Armoloy coating.

Applications include:
Cavities/CoresHot Runners
Zero-draft applicationsSmall IDs to .060"
Check Rings Pins (K.O./Ejector/Core)
Mold Bases/PlatesBarrels
SleevesNozzles
LiftersScrews
Textured SurfacesInserts

Armoloy® TDC and XADC- Armoloy® coatings provide absolute adhesion and corrosion protection equal to 440 series stainless steel. This allows the use of metals that are less expensive, easier to machine, more resistant to fatigue, and longer-lived. Armoloy can successfully coat ball, roller and linear bearings to Abex 9 classification. Dimensional stability is maintained with engineered deposits from .000050/.0002".

The nodular surface of the Armoloy coatings allows the coating to work against itself, increasing wear and lubricity characteristics in roller and needle bearing applications and allowing them to be completely coated. L-10 testing indicates no negative effects on expected fatigue life. Bearing operating temperature may be reduced when Armoloy coatings are applied. Armoloy coatings work well on 52100, M-50 NIL, 440C, pH Stainless, 8620 and many other base materials. Surface hardness is increased to 78 Rc with Armoloy and to 98 Rc with XADC-Armoloy coating.

Applications include:
